Black Cherry Bowl

This shallow bowl form serves as both a decorative object and a practical vessel for holding fruit or bread. The exterior curve mirrors the natural radius of the tree from which it was crafted. The shaping process began with a drawknife to smooth the exterior. The interior was then shaped with an adze and other carving tools. The tactile interior has myriad shallow gouge cuts.
